Finally am reading Blue Lily, Lily Blue and loving every singly word.

If the Addams Family met a John Hughes 80s movie, it would be my current WIP. I LOVE IT.

I also just got the rights back to my first two contemporary YA romances (YAY!!) So, I’m going to put those in a boxed set with a third that’s been on wattpad. This will come out in January!

Timers. I wrote for 45 minutes. When the timer goes off, if my fingers are still flying, I keep writing. If they’re not, I get up, clean something or go for a walk/run or do something else that requires very little brain power, and I’m always ready to jump back in when I’m done.

Some of you know that my husband found his birth family this summer. We had the amazing chance to spend time with his dad, wife and brother in California. And then to Salt Lake City where we met his sisters and their families. AH-mazing trip!

I’m so behind on Christmas, I’d rather not speak of that at the moment. Instead I shall present you with a family photo. For Mike, who grew up with no brothers and sisters and no aunts, uncles, or cousins, this is pretty crazy awesome.

What have the rest of you been up to??

Off to stalk peoples now…

  1. Addams Family meets John Hughes 80s movie?! That sounds fantastic! (Child of the 80s over here.) I think I’m going to “borrow” that timer technique you use. Today, in fact. I think it might work for writing, then taking a short break to squeeze something else in. I need structure in my day, so that would work perfectly. Thanks for the tip! Have a wonderful week, Jolene!

    P. S. This is kind of random, but I LOVE the fonts you’re using here on your blog.

  2. Wow, big family ^_^ Lovely photo!

A timer sounds like such a great idea. I’ve toyed with the idea, but maybe I finally need to try it out.

    Have a great week!

  3. What a great picture, Jo! Love that M has collected family and so do you and Jack and Emma 🙂 Sorry you are behind on Christmas-y stuff but I am sure you’ll catch up. A timer sounds like a great idea. I think I need to do this – maybe 15 minutes for me since 45 sounds a little overwhelming (unless I am for sure in the mood to write 🙂 ) Have a wonderful week. XO

  4. I love the description of your WIP! I now have the Addams Family theme song in my head, and I’m feeling nostalgic for the 80s. Good times.

You know, I should really try your timer method. I used to do that for my son to keep him on track with his schoolwork, so you’d think I would’ve done the same for me. Have a super week!

Hey there!! *waves* Thanks for chatting!
